Catherine ("Cathy") Chukwueke is the Managing Attorney at the Law Office of Catherine Chukwueke, a boutique solo practice serving employers, businesses, and individuals throughout California. With a decade of experience, Cathy focuses on employment law for employers, business law and contracts, and estate planning for individuals and families.
Cathy's background as a defense attorney gives her a perspective that most employment attorneys do not have. Having represented both plaintiffs and defendants across a range of legal matters, she understands how disputes unfold from every angle and uses that insight to help clients make smarter, more defensible decisions before problems arise.
On the employment side, Cathy advises California employers on compliance, workplace policies, investigations, and training. Her membership in the Society for Human Resource Management and her certification in workplace investigations reflect her commitment to staying current on HR best practices and California's evolving legal landscape.
On the estate planning side, Cathy works with California individuals and families to create complete estate plans that protect their assets, reflect their wishes, and hold up when it matters most. She brings the same practical, plain-language approach to estate planning that she brings to everything else: clear guidance, no unnecessary complexity, and documents that actually do what they are supposed to do.
Cathy was born and raised in Orange County, California. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology, with a minor in African American Studies, from the University of California, Irvine, and her Juris Doctorate and certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University School of Law.
Outside of her practice, Cathy is a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and competes in local tournaments. She also enjoys stand-up comedy.
